Marshall Aerospace seeks a Chief Test Pilot to oversee all aspects of the company’s flying operations, including the supervision and safe conduct of experimental, development and production test flying, and of other Company and Marshall Group flying activities.
Marshall Aerospace undertakes maintenance and modification programmes for a wide range of civil and military customers operating C130, Tristar, Citation and other aircraft. Marshall Aerospace also owns and operates Cambridge Airport.
The successful candidate will manage the Flight Operations team and will ensure a close interface with Engineering (including the design office and flight test department) and Production teams on preparation and control of all flight test activities, and will oversee all regulatory responsibilities for the company’s flying activities. An initial period working alongside the current Chief Test Pilot will facilitate acquisition of the
necessary skills and approvals.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Management, leading and motivation of test and specialist aircrew to provide strong and efficient support to
contracted tasks
• Regulatory control and supervision of all Marshall Group flying activities
• Support and prosecution of selected marketing opportunities
The successful candidate will necessarily be a graduate of a recognised test pilot school who holds an UK CAA or JAA ATPL(A) and a CAA Class One medical category and will have:
• Extensive knowledge of flight test techniques and practice
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of civil and military flying regulatory matters and of aircraft and
systems design and operating principles
• Eligibility to hold UK MoD and other security clearances and freedom from international restrictions
• A track record of successful management of flight trials and associated planning, and of management
of personnel
• A high level of oral and written communications skills and problem solving ability.
